Birthdays used to be the biggest deal to me as a kid. Count down lists all over the place and reminding everyone exactly which day was my birthday. Now that I'm in college, it amazed me how it was just another day! I didn't feel different...I didn't feel like it was my birthday until..
Hannah woke me up and said I had to HURRY TO THE KITCHEN! I had no clue what was going on. I scurried to brush my teeth, throw some clothes on, and attempt some makeup before being dragged over there. When I opened our bedroom door I was attacked by birthday streamers running down our door. Then I open up the kitchen door and there are 3 of my good friends, Anna, Abby, and Alison, a present, and a cake waiting for me! My precious roommate, Hannah, threw me a surprise party at 10am! What a great way to start the day!
This is what our door looked like all day! Hannah and Anna put them up!
Hannah also got me a pair of MSU pajama pants that I love!!
I am beyond blessed to have such a sweet roommate that would do this for me when I know she is crazy busy doing her school work and other things!
As the day continued, I had received gerber-daisy flowers (my favorite!!) and a birthday balloon from my parents and brother.
I was overwhelmed with all of the birthday wishes I received over Facebook! I am beyond thankful for each and every one of those people who wished me a happy birthday! I am so very blessed!
That night I had an FEA meeting at 5 and then a New Member meeting for KD at 7. Annie, Hannah Grace, Mandy, Meg, Mamie, Carolee, and Jennifer planned to take me out to a Mexican restaurant after the meeting was over! (Before I could leave for food, everyone in the New Member meeting sang 'Happy Birthday' to me thanks to Sarah Kay!)
At 8 we finally headed to La Ta to eat some Mexican food. It was mariachi night, to our surprise, at the restaurant so they came over. They asked us what we wanted them to play. Mandy screamed that it was my birthday, so they played/sang happy birthday to me! When they finished they asked me what song I wanted them to play. I said I had no clue and to surprise me. (My how I will think twice before saying that again!) The video is blurry because it was taken on a phone but I think you can tell what was happening...
Umm.. ya.. I received a lap dance for my 19th birthday from a mexican man! It was quite embarrassing, mortifying, and hilarious!! It defiantly made this one birthday I could never forget no matter how hard I tried! (Unfortunately I didn't take any other pictures from the day to show..but every moment will never be forgotten!)
Thank you to all of my friends who God blessed me with! Y'all made my birthday a wonderful and memorable day!
